It's fast, it's shocking, it's cracked, and it's dazed!
Yes another Expert's build, but this one really does make sense, so say what you think and give it a go
Skill bar: [skill]conjure lightning[/skill][skill]shell shock[/skill][skill]Expert's Dexterity[/skill][skill]Body Shot[/skill][skill]concussion shot[/skill][skill]distracting shot[/skill][skill]lightning reflexes[/skill][skill]sunspear rebirth signet[/skill]
Attribute Points:
* Air Magic: 10
* Expertise: 10+1
* Markmanship: 11+1+2
Template code: OgYTg0rmXqbYBkXzSEz4xo4AjDA
Equipment: Shocking Flatbow of Fortitude, I prefer +5en over 15^50%, but take whatever you want.
The build is pretty straightforward, cast conjure, stance, daze your caster, shell shock it, and use bodyshot for energy.
Feel free to comment,
The Forest Whispers

Hmm using shell shock then bodyshot only gets you an extra 7 energy
is there not a more efficient way of getting energy?

It actually gives you +10, and you don't need much more since you already have 11 in Expertise

Ok, I like the build. But I would replace [lightning reflexes], since you are going to want to keep up your elite stance all the time anyway. If you are worried about defense, maybe replace it with [dodge] or some other stance with a different function from your elite.
Now that they let us make rez scrolls, I'm not so much a fan of bringing [sunspear rebirth signet]. If you can afford to carry a few scrolls, I'd bring a preparation like [expert focus]. And there's also the greatest buff ever given to rangers: [Antidote signet].

experts dexterity is a preparation not a stance
EDIT: sorry just bit slow just seen it's a stance now ^^""""
experts focus would do well i would say

lightning reflexes was for the defense. not the faster attack rate. And indeed I don't often bring rezz in nm stuff... but it can come in handy in HM.... And i don't like the rezz scrolls lol so yeah... prep and or antidote signet can indeed come in handy, thx for input

Have a hero bring shell shock. Then proceed to use normal build.

Why are you trying to interupt with a flatbow?

I added read the wind now too... the arrows fly fast enough so no downside of the longer flighttime, works quite allright still prefer BHA with a rec bow though

Why? You can't improve BHA with a recurve bow, or anything else like FW/RtW, it has its own fixed arc/flight. So you are actually better off using a flatbow for BHA.

Because it's good to stand as far as possible from an enemy as a Ranger, lowering your efficiency in interrupting? Not to mention that Recurve is strong at all ranges.
Not every enemy will be dazed by BHA, even with Epidemic.

But using a flatbow will affect Distracting Shot and other skills that DO depend on bow arch. BHA is one skill on the bar.

Sorry to go OT for a sec, but for the record, arrows fired under FW do not have a fixed flight time like they do with RtW and BHA. So there is indeed a difference in flight time between a flat and recurve bow under FW.
As for the OP's build...
With the notable exceptions of Splinter Weapon and Epidemic, I've never been a fan of spell casting with a ranger. Even spells with 1 second cast times take quite a bit of time away from your bow. The aforementioned two skills are the only two spells worth that downtime in my experience.
If you want to cast a single target damage spell, Asuran Scan is probably a better option (zero cast time). If e-management is what you seek, then you're probably better off dropping Expert's Dexterity for Prepared Shot. Also, the increased attack speed from Expert's Dexterity isn't really that great when you consider the fixed-speed fast activation bow attacks that rangers have access to these days (see below).
For single target damage, I'd go with something like this:
[read the wind][prepared shot][penetrating attack][sundering attack][sloth hunters shot][Asuran Scan][distracting shot][concussion shot]
Vamp and/or zealous flatbow for the bow of choice.
Don't need a self-heal, that's what monks are for. Don't need a defensive stance, that's what kiting is for. Don't need a rez, that's what heroes and rez scrolls are for.

No doubt Grammar's build is better, just wanted to make a fun build as I run nothing but BHA in hard areas so... use it if you like it, don't use it if you don't no hard choice

Seems like the Energy of the build is a little heavy. Realize that Concussion Shot consumes 25 energy and that Conjure Lightning is 10 energy as well. What are you using to replenish your energy, besides spamming your other 5 energy attacks (and using Bodyshot).
Other than that, I like the idea of it, it's just that for a Ranger, it seems insanely draining on one's energy...

Indeed and, as I said before... I prefer using BHA with a rec bow.. I just wanted to make something new with ED, which happens to be an elite
